Will the Democrats Blink?

Bush wants to escalate his bloody little enterprise in Iraq. Except for Harry Reid, who backed down when his office was deluged with mail protesting his support for the “surge” and veteran turncoat Joe Lieberman, the early votes are encouraging.
The man who presided over the faux hearings that put the congressional stamp of approval on Bush’s Iraqi enterprise, Joe Biden is putting his well-shod foot down.
Democratic rock star Barak Obama says no.
The tattered remnants of GOP moderation are lining up against more troops.

But Bush is determined.
Thanks to the poorly led Democrats, Bush has another inexperienced lackey at his disposal: Secretary of Defense Robert Gates. A family friend and business associate Robert Gates has shown himself more than willing to lick boots and shop really bad and bloody ideas.
Bush is even toying with canning his newest, new General because he won’t support putting 30,000 more of America’s fighting men and women at risk for the commander and chief’s maniacal ego.

The new congress muststop this by slamming shut the purse strings. If they refuse to do so, it will be the last decision they make about Iraq. They will be trapped into the Orwellian nightmare of “supporting our troops” “avenging those who have sacrificed so much”, “defending America’s honor” blah, blah, blah.
Having failed to prevent Bush from racing toward Armageddon, dragging an angry and disgusted nation in his wake, the Democrats will have no excuse for following when they were clearly elected to lead. They may as well leave town.

Stopping the escalation of the war in Iraq is clearly a “must do” for the Democrats.

It should be clear to everyone who has been watching the unfolding of the “madness of King George” that neither he or his henchman Cheney are going to stop trying to execute the PNAC bloody wet dream of gobbling up the Middle East on their way to total world domination. Not only are they going to escalate Iraq, they are going to try and open more fronts; probably Syria and Iran.

It’s time for Congress to call in our chits. Bush and Cheney have committed enough crimes and atrocities to oust several abusive administrations. This is not the time for forbearance or healing. America’s hair is on fire.
Congress must begin to act to remove Bush and Cheney to prevent a tragedy of global proportions and to preserve the tattered remnants of our nation's honor.

Nothing Congress has to do in the next several months is more important.
