DEAR MITCH
Obama's netroots organizers are burning up the ethernet trying to build support for health care legislation that the president has yet to define. What we do know is that it doesn't include a credible public option and that the only people Obama has met with are those from the same industries that have destroyed America's health care system: big pharma, CEO's of health insurers (in fact Wall Street Speculators) and HMOs.
The irony of asking for help from the very people Obama has profoundly betrayed seems to have escaped the notice of both the president and his organizers.
Here's my response to two messages I found in my inbox today.
DEAR MITCH,
As Barak Obama has all but told progressives to sit down and shut up regarding real health care reform, let me return the favor.
Shut up about asking voters to support a handout to insurance companies who have no interest in providing health care benefits. Shut up about asking us to support handouts to big pharma. Shut up about asking us to stuff the pockets of CEOs and shareholders of corporations that profit from suffering and premature death.

DEAR JEREMY,
Apparently it has escaped your notice that 80+% of Americans do not agree with the president's decision to put the health of Americans in the hands of the same people that profit from denying care, driving up costs and speculating in the financial markets instead of paying claims.
At this point in time I would have trouble supporting even decent legislation.
Obama's betrayal of the American people in misrepresenting himself during his presidential campaign is unacceptable. His love affair with military adventurism and his unwillingness to govern according to US Constitution and in compliance with international and domestic law have seriously eroded my support for this administration.
